Have you ever seen that movie Bronson? It’s pretty epic. It’s a true story staring Tom Hardy about this guy called Charlie Bronson. Bronson’s fairly mental but has to be appreciated for his ruthlessness, ambition and his drive. Known as ‘Britain’s most violent inmate’, he’s still alive today serving his life sentence. (sorry to spoil the end of the film)
I like watching a good film, but I enjoy watching a good ‘making of’ of a good film even more. So while looking for interviews of Tom Hardy (also a very interesting guy), I came across a clip that really resonated with me.
“Sometimes you’ve got to cut a little piece of yourself off, no matter how much it hurts in order to grow, in order to move on.”
It got me thinking, who are the people, what are the situations in my life that need to be cut off? It is painful to think about, saying goodbye to those friends you have so much fun with but who just hold you back or maybe even try and drag you down. It’s even harder to cut off negative family members but, at the end of the day you just have to keep moving forward.
In this respect, we should probably take our lead from Charlie. Be ruthless and driven. “Cut it off, naugh!” Accept the pain and don’t regret it for a second.
Also if you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favour.
